Inspired by Form + Function

It all began when I handcrafted my own stitchmarkers because I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for in the existing marketplace, even though lovely options were being offered. Always inspired by the concept of form + function as one of the fundamental motivators within the creative dynamic defining who we are, what we do and why we do it, I wanted embellished stitchmarkers to function as tools that enhanced my enjoyment of knitting, according to my own particular language of aesthetics. We all appreciate beauty in things. In sharing my “language” and enthusiasm, the efficiency and freedom of online shopping, when coupled with a visual personality, plays out an aspect of form + function as well.

It’s not surprising that they also naturally evolved into wearable embellishments as well; charms, as adornments, that are as easy to change out as shifting tastes and occasion dictate.

Each piece is named after a place we have visited; experiences come into sharper focus whenever I design a new piece and impart an identity to it with a place name.
